“DARE TO BE A DANIEL”For six more weeks

We are four weeks into our “Dare to be a Daniel” campaign.  We have been praying for Loving God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength; loving our neighbor as our self; God will send forth laborers into the harvest; and our church.  We have six more weeks to the campaign.  I just want to remind you of the pledge you made back in November to take part in this program for Renewal in 2012.  It was outstanding to see the number of you who committed to “Dare to be a Daniel.”

The “Dare to be a Daniel” program is very important to the beginning of this year of Renewal of our love for Jesus Christ and His mission, Renewal of Servanthood, and Renewal of Strategic Prayer efforts.

For remaining six weeks we are to pray three times a day on one subject for a week.  Each week we will be praying on a different subject.  Let us enter into our closet and talk to God three times a day.

For six weeks we continue are “partial fast.”  The point of a fast is to draw closer to God and be listening for what He has for us in our Christian life.  We deny self to get closer to God.  We give up something to give that time and energy to God to overcome the desires of the flesh so we can have a great desire to be with the Lord.  The more we remove   ourselves from earthly things the more fit we are for communion with God.

Whenever Jesus had something great to do in His ministry, He spent much time in prayer and fasting.  We need to get ready for something great and wonderful to happen in our lives and in the life of the church.

Let us continue to see the Holy Spirit working in our lives and God doing great things here at Central.
