GOD OF COMFORT!
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He retoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousmess for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever" Psalm 23.
"For out light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temperal: but the things which are not seen are eternal" 2 Cor. 4:17,18.
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" Isa. 41:10.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountians be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, tough the mountians shake with the swelling thereof" Psalm 46:1-3.
"Come unto me, all ye that are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest" Matt. 11:28.
"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all out tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort

wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God" 2 Cor. 1:3.4.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" Rom.8:28.
Real Hope
If you meet me in person, you will often see the bubbly, personable me that is very "on the go" who tries to be positive and upbeat – and this is a real part of me. But the person behind the scenes when no one is looking is the one who often shows up in this newsletter. I live as the "Martin Luther-esque" child of God who sees God as Holy and understands that every waking minute I should be submitted to His will and work in my life for His glory. As I live day-to-day in the light of God's truth, I am aware of more and more things that are not right in my attitude, my spirit, my habits, my desires. These things are sin. Sin isn't just what happens to preachers who fall due to a scandal or those who murder. The seeds in our hearts are the truth – not just the action. The thing about sin is we often take more pains to cover it up and label it something else so we feel better or escape judgment of our peers. Jesus came to forgive sin, to release us from the power and shame of it – but only after our confession of it. If we don't identify our sin for what it is we really have no forgiveness – and, therefore, no hope of real joy, freedom, or godliness. There are no shortcuts to joy and perfect communion with God. Dwelling on sin is not the substance of the Christian life but it is certainly its beginning. Real hope lies in identifying sin for what it is, accepting His forgiveness, repenting, and living a life of freedom unto God.
In our ministry to the youth of this church, we are not just on a self-esteem binge. Our value of self comes through knowing the perfect love of God in spite of our sin and the freedom that the sacrifice of His Son brings as we ask forgiveness. Anything less would be an unloving lie. The upcoming revival this next week is a time set aside to reconcile this truth in our lives. As a start, consider these verses and thoughts below – and be blessed from the inside out.

Youth Director
1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Romans 6:1-7
"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin."
"People do not drift toward Holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; we drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; we drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide
toward godlessness and convince ourselves
we have been liberated."

EVANGELISTIC MEETING!
Our Revival and Evangelistic meeting will be from Sunday morning, September 27 through Wednesday night, September 30. Don Forrester will be our guest Evangelist. He is a great man of God who loves the Lord and loves to speak for Him. You will be blessed and inspired by the words the Holy Spirit gives to him to impart to us. Mark your calendar now and plan on being here at every part of the meeting. If you miss, you will miss out on God's blessing for you and you will be missed.
The meeting will begin Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. and will continue nightly at 7:00 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday. We have different groups in charge of inviting people to attend each evening: Youth - Sunday, Men - Monday, Women - Tuesday, and Adult Bible School classes - Wednesday. Be in prayer for the meeting, Don, and the souls that need to be here to make life-changing decisions for Christ. There will be a 24-hour prayer vigil starting Saturday morning September 26, 9:00 A.M. and lasting through Sunday morning until 9:00 A.M. We encourage everyone to take part in this leading up to our revival.
We need to have people let Kathy know if you would be willing to supply a meal at noon or a snack at night for Dave and Don. We will be having a congregational potluck carry-in dinner on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. before the final night of the meeting.
We need people to staff the Nursery and Toddlers rooms for the meeting. Let Kathy know if you would like to do that.
Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send forth laborers into the harvest. The harvest is ready. Let us be inviting and praying starting now and during our meeting.
Dave Ramsey Course
CCC will be having 5 sessions of the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace program videos. You will learn how to set up a budget, have an emergency fund, how to get out of debt & earn financial peace. Classes will be on each Friday evening in October starting at 6:30 PM. For additional information, see the flyers around the church or contact Charlotte & Ken Belsky.
Spaghetti Dinner & Auction @ 5pm | Saturday, October 3rd
Come and get ‘em!! The youth group is now selling $4 tickets to the Spaghetti Dinner & Auction to be held Saturday, October 3rd at Central Christian Church. Tickets are also available at the door for $5 each. We are raising funds for our annual trip to the Tennessee Christian Teen Convention (TCTC) so that as many youth as possible can come! The TCTC weekend – for the Jr. & Sr. High - is the highlight of the year and our best opportunity for discipleship with great teaching, worship, community, and fun. For more info, visit www.tctcinfo.com.
The spaghetti dinner will start at 5pm. The auction at 6pm will feature various helpful services such as babysitting, yard work, a day of carpentry, financial review, and even a dirt-mover! Ticket required to bid at auction.
Don't miss it!
Family Night Dinner and Bible Study begins for the fall, winter and spring on Wednesday night October 7. Everyone is encouraged to take part in this Wednesday Night Family Night program for all ages. If you have not been attending in the past this is a great time to get started and involved.
We begin the Family Night with a home cooked meal at 6:00 p.m. The cost of the meal is $4.00 per person and family rates also. Then there will be classes for all ages at 7:00 p.m. The adults will be lead by Dave in the study of the Book of Acts. This will be a workbook study. Each person is asked to purchase a book. The cost is $4.00 for each book. See Dave for a book so you can get the first lesson done before you come to class on October 7. Make sure to bring your workbook and your Bible to class. Looking for all the families in the church being present for Family Night beginning October 7. Mark the date and plan on a time of food, fellowship, and study.
Nominations for Elders and Deacons begin.
Beginning on Sunday morning, September 20, ballots will be made available to the members of the congregation to nominate men for the work of Elder or Deacon. A man can be nominated if he has been a member of Central Christian for six months or more. You will turn your nomination ballot in to an elder. The last Sunday for nominations will be Sunday, October 11.
The budget process also begins then for committees. The budget request must be in to the finance committee by Sunday, October 11.
Our annual congregational meeting will be Sunday night, November 22, at 7:00 p.m. We will have a congregational potluck carry-in dinner at 6:00 p.m.

SCRAP BOOKING
Hello Everyone,
Have you ever wanted to put those photos to good use, get organized, or just find the time to do scrap booking?
Well, now is the chance. The second Friday of each month at 6:30 P.M. we will have the church open for those who want to come.
Bring a light snack to share, a friend and your pictures and supplies. It is a great time of fellowship and fun. Please RSVP so I know how many chairs to set up.!
