"Through It All"

Last month I gave you scriptures that were for comfort, strength, and hope.  In life we are going to be faced with many difficulties and trials and heartaches.

We need to take this time of Thanksgiving to thank and praise the Lord for seeing us through all that we have had to face and things we will be facing.  I like the words for the song by Andrae' Crouch titled "Through

It All."

Verse one says:  "I've had many tears and sorrows, I've had questions for tomorrow, There've been times I didn't know right from wrong; But in every situation God gave blessed consolation That my trials come to only make me strong."  When we look at our trials as a means to get stronger and our faith to grow, it becomes an opportunity for

thanksgiving and praise.
  

Verse two says:  "I've been to lots of places, and I've seen a lot of faces, There've been times I felt so all alone; But in my lonely hours, Yes, those precious lonely hours, Jesus let me know that I was His own."  Jesus is there to walk with us and carry us in those very lonely times when we are alone and no one is with us and fear is upon us.  At those times we should thank Him for His great strength and loving arms that carry us through.  He will never leave us or forsake us. Verse three says:  "I thank God for the mountains, and I thank Him for the valleys, I thank Him for the storms He brought me through; For if I'd never had a problem I  wouldn't know that He could solve them, I'd never know what faith in God could do." 

What powerful words of faith and hope for our soul.  Let us be thanking Him for all that comes our way.  The good is easy to be thankful for.  The bad now becomes an opportunity to thank Him for what He has done and can do for us when we rely on His power, strength, and comfort.  Let us praise Him in every situation.  When we do so, those situations will become easer to face and come through, because we are not alone.  God will be on our side each step of the way.  Never lose hope or faith.

The chorus says:  "Through it all, through it all, I've learned to trust in Jesus, I've learned to trust in God; Through it all, through it all, I've learned to depend upon

His Word."
  

 Let us all learn to trust in Jesus and God and His Word.  When we have a life of thankfulness, life becomes peaceful, joyful, and hopeful.

 

Remember to turn your clocks back one hour this Saturday, October 31.

 

Congregational Meeting

Our annual congregational meeting will be Sunday night, November 22, at 7:00 p.m.  We will have a potluck carry-in dinner at 6:00 p.m.

 

 

 

 

 

There will be no Wednesday Family Night November 25 and the church office will be closed on the 26.  Happy Thanksgiving.

 

MOVIE NIGHT

 

November 8, 5:00 P.M. at the Martinie's home.

 

We will start taking orders for poinsettia's in memory or honor of a loved one on November 15-29.  The price will be $9.50 each.

 

The congregation is invited to the wedding of Dean Lindsey & Karen Tabb on Saturday, November 1, 5:00 P.M.

 

The Christmas Advent season is just around the corner!!!

Join us for a night of fingerfoods and fellowship as we open this Christmas season with our minds focused on the One above. The church will be gathering for a time of singing and a lesson in God's Word. We will then hang the Christmas greens in the church.

 Time: 6 p.m to 8 p.m. on November 29th

 Location: Church sanctuary

We need coffee filters (must have commercial 12 cup filters – Kroger carries this item), also we need sugar and creamers for the coffee station.

 

WOW would like to thank everyone who donated items for our annual yard sale. Also thank you to everyone who helped in setting it up, doing the sale and packing up after the sale.  The items left over were given to Place of Hope and Hope House.

Some clothes were given to Brian Hunt as he is planning to take youth next year to the Appalachian Mts. to donate clothes. We made $589.98.

PS: Thank you to all the men who carried the tables upstairs and took them back downstairs.

 

SCRAP BOOKING

Hello Everyone,

     Have you ever wanted to put those photos to good use, get organized, or just find the time to do scrap booking?

     Well, now is the chance.  This month's schedule will be November 13^th, at 6:30 P.M. We will have the church open for those who want to come.

     Bring a light snack to share, a friend and your pictures and supplies.  It is a great time of fellowship and fun.  Please RSVP so I know how many chairs to set up.!
