Women of Worship (WOW)

Women of Worship (WOW) is a ministry to the women of the congregation.  Comprised of women at every age and stage of life, Women of Worship plans opportunities for women to meet other women with similar needs and interests, feel part of a larger Christian community, and grow spiritually stronger and closer to God.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."  Galatians 5:22-23

We host a variety of special events to enrich women's lives such as Rejuvenate (a fun Saturday for ladies to relax and be renewed), a Ladies Tea, special Bible studies (we've completed a Beth Moore study on the Fruit of the Spirit), and guest speakers.

Activities within the congregation include:

  1. Kitchen showers for the church.
  2. Bridal and baby showers for church members.
  3. Annual yard sale whose proceeds benefit the Children's Ministry.
  4. Help with scholarships to the Tennessee Christian Teens Convention (TCTC) as needed.
  5. Scholarships to church members attending Bible colleges.
  6. Financial assistance to women in need.
  7. Provide lunch to participants during Saturation Saturdays (a community calling program).
  8.

"In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor."

Acts 9:36

We also help in our community as we are made aware of needs.  Examples:
  • 1. Gathering school supplies that are distributed by the school staff to children in need.
  • 2. Gathering food items to be distributed first to church families in need and then to the community at large.
  • 3. Purchasing Bibles for the Pregnancy Center of Columbia.

Our meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month, usually at the church building but occasionally in one of our homes.  Childcare is provided as needed.

Come help us serve God in this place!

Serving God in Your Place

God has called each of us to serve Him in the place He has us.  In His eyes we all have a ministry.  Many serve Him in a local church through a variety of ministries, such as music, teaching, youth work, being a part of the church staff, or by serving on a committee.  Others serve on the mission field, on the job, at school, or at home.

God knows you and He knows your heart desires to serve Him.  You are someone that He will use to make a difference, to share His love, and to touch the hearts of others.  What has qualified you for this high privilege of being used by Him?  Is it your talents, your personality, your education, your influence, or your résumé?  It is none of these; rather, it is the response of your heart toward Him.  God is always searching for those whose hearts are yielded to Him so that He can work mightily through them.
